AVON PROTECTION SYSTEMS

GLOBAL RESPIRATORY PROTECTION

Avon Protection is the recognized global market leader in respiratory protection system technology. An unrivalled 80 year pedigree in military mask design and manufacture  has placed Avon Protection at the heart of numerous national defense and tactical Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) deployment strategies.

Avon Protection's expanding global client base now includes military forces, civil and first line defense troops, emergency service teams and industrial, marine, mineral and oil extraction site personnel. All put their trust in Avon's advanced respiratory protection solutions to shield them from every possible threat.

ISI was a leading designer and manufacturer of quality respiratory protection equipment and thermal imaging systems. Their technologically advanced, easy-to-use respirators and other devices save critical time for law enforcement, firefighting and industrial users.

ISI was founded in 1980 in response to firefighters' demands for better respiratory protection. Since then, ISI has distinguished itself by working closely with firefighters, law enforcement and industrial users to create respiratory protection equipment to meet their changing needs.

ISI was purchased by AVON Protection Systems, the WORLDs largest manufacturer of Respiratory Protection Equipment and it is now know as AVON PROTECTION.

Their products are backed by first-class training, service and repair -- all provided by some of the industry's most knowledgeable experts, from engineering to production to customer relations. Manufactured in metro Atlanta, ISI has nine regional offices in North America and more than 150 distributors throughout the world.

ISI recently won an international award for their innovative SCBA designs.

THE AVON VIKING 7 SEVEN HAS TWO UNIQUE LIFE SAVING

FEATURES NOT FOUND ON OTHER SCBA

AVAILABLE WITH TEAMS

The TEAMS (Telemetry Electronic Air Management System) is a monitoring system of important information and communication

between the user of the Viking Z Seven SCBA and the command center.  The StatCheck device attached to the SCBA monitors SCBA battery status, cylinder pressure, real time temperatures, and the user Personal Identification Number (PIN) entry device. Using the transmitter assembly, mounted on the backframe, this information is sent back to the command center that displays this information on a laptop computer.  Fire Fighters can enter a PIN into the StatCheck and the command center will display the names of the users of the SCBA.  Fire Departments can also assign the SCBA to a jump seat location and the command center laptop will display the engine company and jump seats location.

ALSO AVAILABLE WITH ECHOTRACER™

The NEW EchoSeries™ from ISI helps locate downed Fire Fighters with a hand held Scanner or attached to a model 3500 thermal Imaging camera.

EchoTracer

ECHOBEACON

TIC Adapter   EchoSeeker

The AVON EchoTracer™ firefighter locating system utilizes patented PULSE™ ultrasonic technology that provides the means for a fire departments “RIT” Team to significantly reduce the time it takes to find a downed fire fighter.  The transmitter is automatically activated on the downed fire fighters SCBA and is detected by a hand held device or through any ISI Thermal Imaging Camera equipped with the EchoSeeker option.

nVISION XT & XTP

After a ten foot drop, the NEW nVISION XT and XTP thermal imaging cameras from AVON acted like nothing happened. They are the only TICs to have passed a ten foot drop test – not just surviving six consecutive 10’ drops, but also remaining fully operational without a restart.

These palm-sized TICs are so efficient that a single battery

provides full-function operation for over four hours.

eliminating the need for battery change on the fire scene.

The state-of-the-art thermal imaging technology of the XT and XTP

consistently produces clearer images than competitive products,

especially in very high temperature ranges.

The picture to the right shows the

nVISION TIC on it’s optional extension

pole with remote display.

The RIT/RIC rescue system from AVON offers Rapid Intervention Teams greater flexibility in providing emergency air to trapped or downed Fire Fighters.

The RIC system uses the NFPA mandated quick connect that will dump up to 50% of the rescue air into the victims cylinder.

The RIT system attaches to the low pressure side of any AVON SCBA through the Buddy Breather, Face Mask connection or Remote Airline Connection.  Using the low pressure side is safer and the RIT system has an end of service alarm to warn when it is time to change cylinders.

A Combo unit comprised of both the RIC and RIT systems is available.

L2 Rit Bag

T1 Rit Bag

Light, fast and incredibly tough. The L2 has a unique  Heat-Shield™ composite  bottom plate which allows  the bag to glide over the roughest surfaces and still take the heat. Optional zippered Rope bag available.

True North’s first RIT bag, the one that changed the expectation of what a RIT bag should be. Updated with our new ultra tough Iron-Cloth™. The T1 reflects True North’s dedication to providing value by delivering innovative solutions at a fair price.

The T1’s ruggedness combined with features such as the separated hose pockets, and rigid plastic shield to protect the valve set and face piece, have garnered critical praise from fire departments and RIT trainers alike.

When working in an IDLH atmosphere (Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health) where it may be difficult to get into a confined space with an SCBA or where you need to be on continuous supplied air – you must use a Supplied Air Respirator with escape (ARAP-E). If the supplied air fails you can use the escape bottle to provide air while you get to a safe place.  If you are in a NON-IDLH environment then you can use an ARAP-C respirator.  This has no emergency escape air as type C respirators are only approved for NON-IDLH atmospheres where while the air may be unpleasant - it is not harmful.

ARAP E

NIOSH approved for IDLH applications
Available with a 5, 10 or 15 minute escape cylinder
“Airswitch” or CDV demand valve
Optional hood in lieu of mask
Quick connect for fast cylinder exchange

Emergency Escape Breathing Apparatus (EEBA)

The ISI EEBA provides respiratory protection for escape from atmospheres that have become Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health (IDLH).

The clear hood allows full peripheral vision and protection even if user has glasses, long hair or facial hair. The unit is totally self-contained inside a carrying pouch that can be stored in work areas or carried around the waist, neck or over the shoulder.

Available with both 5- and 10-minute duration cylinders. Choose a PVC hood for chemical resistance or a polyurethane hood for cold weather operations.   NIOSH approved.

FM50 With Primary Filters

Avon Protection has been providing world class respiratory protection to military and law enforcement officers for more than 85 years and is proud to deliver our new generation of technically advanced products. In 2000 we were awarded the largest ever respirator contract by the Department of Defense to design, develop and supply all four services and the coast guard with a new mask to replace all existing in-service masks such as the M40, MCU2P and M45.

To compliment this new range of masks, Avon has invested heavily in research, development and new production facilities within the us to provide an advanced range of complimentary products that include: escape devices, PAPR blowers and modular SCBA systems. Our ‘total system’ approach to respiratory protection provides the specialist wearer with the confidence and performance needed in ever changing hazardous environments.
