The Wildfire model BB-4 portable fire pump is an ideal unit for high volume remote watering, brush truck and slip-on fire fighting systems in forestry and rural fire environments. High pressure up to 425 psi (2930 kPa) is provided to operate very long hose lays and overcome pressure losses due to large elevation changes often encountered in rugged wildland fire operations. The higher power makes it ideal for pumping at high altitudes. A unique feature of the BB-4 pump is the quick release pump end that is inter-changeable with our Mark-3 pump. This standardization allows for in-field pump and exchanges eliminating long equipment down time and greatly reduces parts inventories at equipment service shops.

Building portable fire pumps is our core competency. In order to be efficient, a true power pump must be lightweight, capable of generating high-pressure and most of all, reliable. All of our pumps are multi-stage, centrifugal. This system allows for pumping from a natural water source (lakes, streams, rivers, etc.) often containing minor debris. Moreover, centrifugal systems allow for tandem pumping which enables users to pump water over greater distances and elevation. What matters most in forest fire fighting is not the amount of water that is discharged from the nozzle, rather it's having enough pressure so that the water actually arrives to the fire site.

The Waterous Floto-Pump is self-priming and operates in as little as 6" (15 cm) of water. Durable, powerful, and easy to maintain, it is the clear choice for a quick response to fires in inaccessible areas. One person can easily carry the Floto-Pump. The high-pressure model reaches pressures of 170 psi (1172 kPa). The standard model has capacities to 140 US gals/min (530 L/min).
