FIRE-TRAX has introduced the world's first fire fighter accountability system that utilizes an infrared bar code scanner to keep track of fire fighters on the fire ground.
Fire-Trax is a bar-code driven fire service accountability system.
Firefighters are issued bar-coded accountability tags that take the place of the "Dog Tag" systems. As each firefighter enters the "Hot Zone", their tag is scanned using a hand held, rugged computer with integrated bar-code scanner.

Just aim and shoot Fire-Trax bar codes to determine WHO is at the site with what quals, WHERE they are assigned and WHEN they got there. On-scene PAR timer and reports, on the fly reassignments and search by quals. Upload to a host PC for post-incident reports and critique. Cross-utilize the system for trainee tracking, equipment checks and standard palm features. Entry-level package includes a SPT 1700 Palm, and host software with print program and database. 

The Fire-Trax IM utilizes a Command Module (field PC) to monitor multiple palms operating on a wireless LAN (radio frequency network). 

The Command Module provides on-scene detailed reporting, command logs, and bar code printing in the field.
