MASS DECON 101

MASS DECON 101: Mass decontamination shower system. Capable of decontamination of multiple persons quickly and efficiently. This system offers a complete shelter with integrated dual shower cabins. The shelter is designed for two persons to simultaneously enter the shelter into a curtained area for undress. Then proceed into the Shower cabin for decontamination and exit into a curtained area for redress. Decontamination can take place at 30 seconds per person in cases of mass casualty. There is also ample space for decontamination of persons lying on stretchers. The Airshelter concept is ideal for providing shelter during harsh weather conditions. The shelter can be equipped with an optional heating unit and lighting kits. The shelter is erected by using an SCBA cylinder or air pump. The shelter’s tubular airframe is equipped with a built in pressure valve to prevent over pressurization.

System Operation:

The MASS DECON 101 shelter is erected in under two minutes with either SCBA cylinders and a regulator or an electric air pump. A water hose is fed to the Hydrophor pump which maintains a constant 50 psi on-demand pressure. The water is then feed to the Hotbox which is electric and Diesel operated. The hotbox is an on-demand hot water system. The hot water can be passed through a solvent/detergent inducer and then back into a 4 point manifold on the hotbox. Two hoses feed the two showers in the tent and two hoses with pistol grips are used for prewash. A waste water transfer pump is connected to the outlet from the shower. This pump removes the contaminated water from the shower basin and pumps it into a collapsible waste fluid container. The waste fluid container uses a replaceable liner and includes a shutoff valve for pump out. Optional heating and lighting kits are available. Complete system includes:

AIRSHELTER III - 19’ L x 15’ W x 9’ H
16 Tent anchor stakes
Fully integrated (removable) Dual Shower Cabin
15’ hose (water supply to Hydrophor Pump)
Hydrophor Pump supplies on-demand water
30’ ( Hydrophor Pump to Hotbox 200)
Hotbox 200 provides on-demand hot water
Two 18’ hoses (Hotbox to Showers)
Two 18’ hoses with pistol grip (hotbox to shower area)
Detergent Inducer
Two 41/2’ hoses (hotbox to inducer - inducer to hotbox)
Waste water transfer pump
3’ hose (shower cabin to waste water pump)
30’ hose (waste water pump to waste fluid container)

MASS DECON 102 is an identical system with the larger AIRSHELTER IV - 27’ L x 19’ W x 9’ H

HAZMAT DECON SYSTEMS

For HAZMAT Decontamination Canadian Safety offers all the components to put together a complete Decon system including a Decon Shower and basin, Decon Cabin and portable water heaters, pumps, detergent/solvent inducers, waste water transfer pumps, fluid bags etc.

The DECON Cabin and Basin is designed for large scale incidents and includes an integrated 9 nozzle shower assembly.
Cabin and basin are stored in a small truck compartment and can be fully set up in under 2 minutes by one person.
The cabin is inflated by an air pump or SCBA cylinder.
Dual doors are marked with red and green arrows exit and entrance arrows. Four tie down straps are included and the whole unit is easily stored and transported in a convenient carrying valise.
The basin traps any contaminated fluids for later removal.
The portable free standing shower is easily stowed and can also be set up in two minutes.
The shower can be supplied with water from the HYDROPHOR PUMP which will regulate and maintain a constant water pressure to the shower nozzles. The water can be heated by the HOTBOX on-demand water heater.
An adjustable thermostat, once set will maintain the water at a constant temperature. Four water outlets are included, each with its own shut off valve
The HOTBOX is operated from Kerosene, home heating oil, #1 or 2 diesel or JPH.
The fuel tank is detachable so it can be stored separate from the unit.
A detergent/solvent inducer can be attached to the HOTBOX to regulate flow to prevent improper proportioning.
The shower is placed inside the basin to trap all waste water for removal and a submergible transfer pump can be used to transfer the contaminated water to a fluid storage bag for removal and disposal.

An elevation grid and soft pad are available for the shower floor.

The HYDROPHOR pump is automatically activated when a shower valve is turned on and will maintain a constant flow. Shut off is also automatic when valves are turned off. The water supply is connected to the HYDROPHOR pump and all flows and pressures are controlled by the pump.

The HOTBOX on-demand water heater supplies instantaneous temperature controlled hot water to the shower. The solvent inducer can be directly attached to control solvent/detergent addition.

Submergible WASTE WATER TRANSFER pump can be placed iinside the basin or connected through a valve to transfer the waste water to a fluid bag for storage and removal.

Lightweight FLUID BAG folds flat when not in use and when unfolded holds up to 125 gallons
of waste water. It can also be used as a reservoir to hold fresh water for the shower. An
optional shut-off valve can be  used to transfer water to smaller containers. Four heavy duty lifting straps are included.

A three layer polyethylene liner with two threaded fittings is available for the fluid bag.
